The Crawling Chaos

Laurent Gontier is attacking the monumental task of crafting a recreation of the Necronomicon from scratch. This is one of the faux woodcuts he's created for it, depicting Nyarlathotep in the style of Albrecht Durer.

Based on his previous work, which you can check out here and here, I'm really looking forward to how this develops.

Awesome engraving art.

Gotta love Dürer's woodcuts and engravings. Along that style, I've also found the works of Gustave Doré and Hieronymous Bosch to be wonderfully inspiring.

I think Bosch probably had direct experience of the Great Old Ones. . . I'd love to know the actual technique used. The older links to his website have errors. Do you have a current link?

I second Larry Evans' curiosity about the technique used for the artwork here. Is there a current link to Mr. Gontier's website?

Hey, the image has been made sampling and mixing different existing woodcut. It has then been printed on home-aged paper. New website is http://lgontier.free.fr
It's mostly about pictures and video but there's a section about travel diaries and Grail Diary.

PS : thanks ot Oakree for posting ;)
